10 Feb New Report Analyzes Support Systems for Low-Income Older Adults and Family Caregivers
There are nearly 35 million Americans providing unpaid care to an older adult. As the population ages, caregiving is an issue that will touch every family, rich or poor. A new Special Report, and accompanying video, from Justice in Aging (formerly the National Senior Citizens Law Center), Advocacy Starts at Home: Strengthening Supports for Low-Income Older Adults and Family Caregivers, looks at the issue of family caregiving through the lens of senior poverty. The paper proposes solutions that will not only help low-income older adults age in dignity with the supports they need, but also offers solutions that will support all families, regardless of their resource level.
